East End Art Shelter

From Art In Motion’s Yvette Hurt:   “Since the art shelter’s completion last August, East End native and ArtsPower director Joan Brannon has worked with local artists to develop a series of exhibits that will explore the neighborhood’s rich African-American cultural and entrepreneurial history, the economic and demographic transitions the area has experienced over the last four decades and the blossoming revitalization efforts currently going on there.” Read more at ProgressLex: http://www.progresslex.org/

I am proud to be a personal financial contributor to this effort, along with my friend Phil Holoubek.  I was also able to secure sizable support from the Blue Grass Community Foundation (where I happen to work :-).  But it is due to the diligent and dedicated work of Art In Motion and Joan B that this has happened.  This is great stuff for our city.
