Rolling Stone: Teabagging the Bluegrass….

Hat tip to the guys at Barefoot and Progressive for giving us an early warning of just how the rest of the world looks at Kentucky…..Rolling Stone, which remarkably is getting more relevant with each issue, has put the mirror to us.

Memo to the Powers That Be: Lexington cannot let the cooties of the teabagging morons stay on us, or we will never win the “high tech, creative class” race we are in….we must renounce anger,  hatred and ignorance with every decision we make as a community.  Kentucky already has enough handicaps that Lexington must try to overcome.

And a reminder to my more “conservative” readers:  keeping people out of a “private” business based on the color of their skin isn’t only wrong from a Christian point of view, it’s wrong from a governmental point of view.  See, the only reason we can have successful private businesses is because we as a society agree to uphold common laws, pay for common infrastructure, enforce common standards.  And since we collectively pay for those, private businesses – who financially benefit from all those governmental guarantees  – should be required to play by the right set of rules.   Now, teabaggers, if you’re willing to give up the rule of law, the maintenance of the highway system, and official security and all the rest, then I guess, yes, we could go back to apartheid.   What about the rest of us?
