Why Resilience?

Rob Hopkins, one of the founders of the Transition Town movement, has written a great piece on the importance of the concept of resilience to our cities.  Very clear writing, very forceful arguments:

Resilience; “the capacity of a system to absorb disturbance and reorganise while undergoing change, so as to retain essentially the same function,structure, identity and feedbacks”
